Carlotta Actis Barone first began her training in fashion at the age of 24 at the Carlo Sedoni Institute in Bologna, Italy, where she was awarded a diploma in Pattern Cutting and Figure Drawing. Carlotta took a determining step into the fashion industry when she moved to London in 2004, enrolling on several short courses at Central St Martin’s University and entering the Fashion Folio Foundation. Carlotta has contributed to some of the most prestigious collections, such as Balmain and Moon Young Hee in France, and has also used her many talents to create prints for Stella McCartney in April 2010. Carlotta has since been heavily featured in press in both London and New York. Her collections cleverly project political views, linking contemporary fashion with social history.

Carlotta Actis Barone continues her innovative theme of combining protest about important ethical issues with striking designs that deliver her intended messages straight to the audience’s conscience. This season’s inspiration is formed from cruelty against animals, particularly the slaughter for fur, with a concentrated focus on seals.
